19 C NEW GENEVA Pa. TANWARE BUTTER CROCK W. TULIPS
(Item: BUTTER CROCK EARLY)
SOLD $715
Very Special little Pennsylvania Tulip
decorated Butter Crock. Probably New Geneva Pottery, crock has
freehand brush strokes, is tanware with brown Albany Glaze Tulip &
Leaves all around Decoration. We acquired this crock about 20
years ago from an estate full of really fine country antiques from a
farm in South Western Pennsylvania. The lady remembered her
Grandmother sending her to school with her lunch in this crock and it
doesn't have a chip on it! Holds one quart and is 5 inches tall
with top and bottom diameters being six inches each. Shinny
Albany glaze inside and Tulip & Leaf decoration on the outside are
the same; three Tulips run all the way around the crock and there is
one perpendicular line decoration, as pictured. No chips, cracks
or repairs. Tan surface is matte and decoration is shinny.
This is a special little crock that we hate to part with!
